New Mexico has tested 12,527 people with symptoms of COVID-19 and 281 tested positive (2.2%). 26 people have recovered from the virus and there have been 4 deaths in the State all having other underlying health issues. No cases have been reported in Sierra County.
Stay at home as much as possible. Do not get into a false sense of security. Maintain social distancing. Wash your hands often with soap and water, Do not touch your face. Only go out if you need supplies, groceries or food from a restaurant. Please do not hoard food or hygiene products, grocery stores are open and food is plentiful in the community.
The county’s focus has been on and will continue to ensure local health care facilities get critical supplies needed for this pandemic; and to provide food to the elderly, disabled or impoverished individuals or families that cannot physically go to a grocery store or do not have the financial resources to purchase groceries.
