1,461 tests of COVID-19 have been performed in Sierra County with 2 new positive cases being reported bringing the total to 9 or .6% of those tested for the County. The first positive case reported back in April has recovered. 66% of the COVID-19 deaths in New Mexico have occurred in (San Juan, & McKinley) counties. According to the number of positive cases compared to the number of tests performed, the state peaked on April 22, 2020. NM Health Department estimates 5,047 people have fully recovered. Maintain social distancing and wear a mask of some kind. Wash your hands often with soap and water, try and not touch your face.
According to the Census workers all census forms have been delivered to everyone in Sierra County. PLEASE take a few minutes and complete the Census. We encourage you to fill it out and mail them back in or complete it online at my2020census.gov/.
