In coordination with Sierra County, the City of Elephant Butte, City of Truth or Consequences, and Village of Williamsburg are updating the Sierra County Hazard Mitigation Action Plan (HMAP). The Plan Update will address hazards that affect the area. The goal of the Plan Update is to minimize or eliminate the long-term risk to human life and property from known hazards through effective mitigation.
Sierra County will hold public meetings to gather public input for developing the HMAP. The purpose of the public meeting is to provide a project overview from H20 Partners, Inc., consultant, to the project, and solicit information from citizens. Public input will help the project team analyze potential hazards affecting residents and recommend possible actions to reduce their impact.
