Sierra County Emergency Management, NM is thrilled to introduce TextMyGov, a convenient and smart text messaging service! This service will enable residents to effortlessly receive important emergency notifications.
The county will officially launch the new text messaging system to the public on 24 November 2025. Residents may receive a text message from 80946 from Sierra County, NM initiating the service. You can choose to opt-out at any time by texting STOP.
If you don’t receive the initial message, you can choose to opt-in by texting the keyword “SIERRACO” to the number 80946. After sending the initial keyword, you will be asked to reply “YES” to confirm opt-in. For specific text alerts, text one of the following keywords to the number 80946:
- Sierra County Emergency Alerts/Notifications: text SIERRACO to 80946
- Sierra County Events notifications: text SIERRACOEVENTS to 80946
- Sierra County Weather notifications: text SIERRACONWS to 80946
